hey guys, guess what the ice man is just on a roll . Kimi is starting at pole tomorrow at the Nürburgring circuit. Hamilton had crashed out and the latest news is, he will be starting from 10th place. It has not yet been confirmed whether he will starting with McLaren’s spare car from the pit lane. The reason for Hamilton’s crash was that the front right wheel gun failed to work properly making the tyre loose forcing Hamilton to plough into the barricade at an estimated 150 kmph. Tata-Fiat/Mahindra may bid for Jaguar and Land Rover

21 07 2007

Looks like the Indian Manufacturers are expanding their footprint. Media sources say both Tata and Mahindra are keen on the deal offered by Ford. The estimate is about 1.3 to 1.5 Billion dollars for both Jaguar and Land Rover. Both the Indian manufacturers have declined to comment and refuse to give any info. Looks like Mahindra is very keen on the LandRover but Ford is offering both the companies as a “package deal” and is working on the bid. Since Land Rover and Mahindra concentrate on SUV`s synergy is possible but Land Rover is about 6 times larger than Mahindra and this is where the affordability factor comes into play. The combined workforce of both the companies is about 19000 British workers. Ford bought Jaguar in 1989 for 2.5 billion dollars and Land Rover from Germany’s BMW in 2000 for 2.7 billion dollars.
